Case Study: Growth

Just say yes.

Tell us about your company.

We are a software as a service (SaaS) company with a mobile app that allows companies to manage remote workplaces and workers. Think of a retail store, like Walmart, with 80-100 employees working in the store on any given day. Our platform and reporting tools allow companies to ensure people are doing what they are supposed to be doing, when they are supposed to be doing it.

MVRetail, our app-based solution for tracking, verifying, and reporting retail activity delivers unprecedented value to retailers, manufacturers and brokers. Our solution is used by leading retailers, manufacturers, and third party laborers and supports all sizes and sorts of teams from two users to ten thousand. I am responsible for the Operations, Finance, and IT arms of our business.

At the end of the day, Stan (Movista’s co-founder) and I are working to battle retail inefficiencies and increase workplace productivity. Some of our customers include Verizon, Wal-Mart, and Meijer.

What was your experience with the Clarus R+D team?

I had experience with state-driven tax programs, but no experience with federal programs. It was a lot less painful than I thought it would be. To be honest, I figured if it was a federal government credit it would be an awful process, kind of like going to the dentist.

With Clarus R+D, understanding the program was streamlined, easy, and presented in very simple terms. The team did a great job of removing all the clutter, getting down to what mattered most, and walking us through the process.

Keep the stone flipping. Clarus’ program is a great example of that. We are getting a $200k gift just by saying yes with a little extra effort.

How do you plan to use the R&D tax credit?

Our $200K R&D tax credit will be used to offset payroll costs and keep growing.

What tips would you give other entrepreneurs?

Keep the stone flipping. Clarus’ program is a great example of that. We are getting a $200K gift just by saying yes with a little extra effort.

Don‘t quit…it’s hard as hell. When we make it, we’ll be an “overnight success” – just took us 7 years to get there. Don’t stop working towards your dream. The good stuff never comes easy.

Any advice for prospective Clarus R+D customers?

Just say yes, it’s a no-brainer.
